"It means I am smart and clean and don't have to wear my own clothes. It's easily washable, fits my shape and lasts for years without shrinking or stretching."

My Uniform

by NHS Activity and Engagement Coordinator (Also training as an Occupational Therapist)

My day begins with paint and clay

and things become much harder

with glue and tape and sweat and dough

the look becomes much harder.

With soil and eggs

with blood and chalk

the work it has disorder

I change at home and wash my clothes

and soon things are much brighter.

It fits my shape and lasts for years

and says I am a worker

Iโ€™m training now in bottle green

white polo and shoes much smarter

I love my work and what I do

and wear clothes that are the order

I make my way to start my day

with uniform from the dryer

I know its right and looks the part

and fills my heart with sparkle

Those clothes I wear with people

I care and know theyโ€™re from Alexandra
