Uniform Hero entrant and Royal Mail Postie, Paula, shares why he loves wearing his uniform.

"For me, wearing the Royal Mail uniform makes me feel proud… my grandad was a Postie, so it feels like I’m following in his footsteps.

We do an important job, provide a service to those who can’t get out very easily, delivering parcels, letters and bills, along with collecting them.

Everybody knows the Royal Mail uniform and people tend to trust us. We have been going for hundreds of years, so it’s nice to work for one of Britain’s longest services and wear the uniform with pride.

But wearing the Royal Mail uniform also means a lot more, you’re a community icon. You get to know your customers, a friendly smile and a little chat goes a long way, especially to those people who are alone, you might be the only person that they speak to all day, or even all week.

So for me, wearing the Royal Mail uniform isn’t just a job, it’s a uniform that makes you part of the community, it makes me feel proud and I wear it with pride."
